Cookie notice

This site sets no cookies. This page explains what that means and how you can check for yourself.

What this site stores on your device

Nothing. We do not use cookies, local storage, session storage or any similar technology. The rules on cookies (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, or PECR) apply when a website stores or reads information on your device. Because this site does neither, there is no cookie banner and nothing for you to accept or decline.

What this site loads from elsewhere

Nothing. Fonts, scripts and styles are all served from our own hosting. There is no website analytics, no advertising or remarketing tag, no social media widget and no embedded video, so no other company learns that you visited.

What our hosting provider records

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like every hosting provider, Hostinger keeps standard server logs, such as the IP address, the page requested, the browser type and the time, to run and protect the service. These logs are not used to track you across the site or across the web. The privacy notice explains how long they are kept.

Downloading a paper

Downloading a PDF does not use cookies either. We email a code to your work address, and the download link carries its own one-time key. The details you give us are described in the privacy notice.

If this ever changes

If we add website analytics, it will only count visits in aggregate, with advertising features switched off, and we will add a one-click way to opt out on this page before it goes live. We will not add advertising or tracking tags without asking for your consent first.

How to check for yourself

  • Chrome or Edge: press F12 (or Option+Command+I on a Mac), open Application and look under Cookies and Storage. Then open Network, reload the page and check that every request goes to this site.
  • Firefox: press F12, open Storage, then Network.
  • Safari: turn on Show features for web developers in Safari settings (Advanced), then choose Develop → Show Web Inspector → Storage.
